A traditional Cretan salad and a 100% healthy meal. This dish can be found all over Crete and is a simple, refreshing and nutritious snack or meal.
- Nice ripe and juicy tomatoes or cherry tomatoes.
- Mizithra cheese (you can substitute with Ricotta or Feta trimmings if u can''t find Mizithra)
- Dakos (Cretan rusks)
- Olive oil
- For this dish, you can either cut the tomatoes into small cubes or mince them. Then, add some salt to help remove the water out and soak the rusks. Next, place the tomatoes and tomato water on top of the rusks, followed by the cheese. Finally, drizzle with the olive oil and the oregano and it's ready! So simple, so good!
