Last week, we gave you 5 alternative uses for Olive Oil and the British public has been shining ever since!

We also promised to give you 5 more, so here they are:

6 Hair Mask

When Olive Oil is used as a mask and allowed to soak into the hair, it improves its look, feel and manageability. Olive Oil is a rich emollient that conditions the hair whilst making it easy to comb. It also adds shine and prevents breakage. When the Olive Oil mask is massaged into the scalp, it may also help to reduce hair loss. Olive Oil is beneficial for all hair types and ethnicities. Make an olive oil hair mask by thickening the olive oil with honey and allowing the mixture to fully saturate and absorb into the hair. Apply Olive Oil to dry hair, comb and leave it around for 30 minutes to an hour. Rinse twice with shampoo until the hair becomes free of Oil. Dry your hair and you’ll immediately feel the softness after the first trial! This has the added benefit of preventing your scalp from becoming dry in winters.

7. Removing Paint from skin or hair

If after some DIY, you find yourself covered in paint, all is not lost. By simply dabbing a cotton ball dipped into the olive oil to the affected area, you’ll soon be back to how you were!

8. Removing makeup

Dab a bit under your eyes, on your cheeks and forehead, then wipe with a damp cloth. Olive Oil will gently remove the make up and leave your skin feeling soft and hydrated.

9. Curing diaper rash

Gently wipe Olive Oil on your baby’s bottom to help with the irritation that can be caused from diaper rash.

10. A pre-manicure/pedicure agent

Olive Oil works well as a pre-manicure and pre-pedicure agent. Simply rub Olive Oil to your hands before a manicure and to the feet before a pedicure to get that beautiful and soft feel. Olive Oil can also help to sooth cracked heels.
